If you are looking for a tool to help you concentrate more on your tasks, use uNeurofeedback.

uNeurofeedback is an application that is being researched by a well-known psychology lab at the University of Santa Barbara (META Lab).

By using fundamental principles of psychology and statistical analysis, uNeurofeedback trains your brain to attentively supervise your intentional actions.

Hypothesis:

uNeurofeedback works based on psychological conditioning and hypothetical supposition of human brains’ capability for self-correcting through introspection. On the surface, uNeurofeedback is made of an interactive timer that feedbacks users visually and aurally to discourage inattention and reinforce attentive behavior. This web-based application punishes undesirable behavior (inattentiveness) and positively and negatively reinforces desirable behavior (attentiveness).
uNeurofeedback also collects users’ responses to the timer for further statistical and analytical feedbacks. The advantage of uNeurofeedback is its simplicity and low cost accessibility, which make it a portable tool that a user can employ along his or her learning materials (or any tasks that need attention) to improve his or her attentiveness.
Hypothetically, uNeurofeedback also has the capability to train (teach) this introspective self-correcting behavior to its users after being used for a certain period of time—which would make the users more attentive, in general, independent of the application.

How it works:

In short, what a user needs to do is simply restarting a series of repeating-countdown timers (loops) during a session at the right time while one is putting attention to some other everyday task. Because of its very low task demands, the application can be used during almost any everyday task, varying from reading to sitting in a classroom and listening to a lecture.
